SENA SMH10 Troubleshooting

Our batteries are not lasting as long as they used to. Quit on a crane job the other day... Perhaps they have longer battery life with 2 or 3 units going than they do with 4 units?

Has anyone purchased a backup set of main modules (the pack that comes on and off the helmet) for the SMH10's? All I am finding for a part # for the module only is SMH10-M01. Are these compatible with any SMH10? I think we are running SMH10B's.

Also, they are like $110 each, so it would cost me $440 to have a spare set of modules for 4 crew members. Curious if anyone has another solution before I pull the trigger? TIA

I don't have them...just shopping. But, they can be used while charging, right? Could you use a small "pocket juice" type of charger to get through the rest of the day?

That's a good idea. So far we just throw them on the charger at lunch but usually we don't take much of a lunch with the crane so they are liable to die by the end of the longer days. I believe the 10R's have longer battery life, that's where we're probably going for our next set.

On the 10R's the battery is separate so you can buy spares to have on hand if need be.

I just picked up a lightly used set of smh10. I haven't really gotten a chance to check then out much, but I did notice some static when they were turned all the way up. Once turned down everything was nice and clear until we put some distance between them. It looks like I have to repair them each time I turn them on, is this normal? I only have 2 units, so it isn't difficult, just curious. Even turned down it was very easy to hear the other person talk.
