Saw hardware.

It would be awesome if someone (Treestuff listening) sold a hardware assortment kit for Stihl and/or Husky with all the screw sizes that are used in saws. It is annoying to have to go to the dealer every time I need a replacement piece. Multiple copies of frequently lost and needed pieces.

Why not just ask your dealer to put together a hardware package for you, support a local small company instead of a giant corporate conglomerate. Mine usually gives me the small screws and stuff that occasionally go missing when I go in.

Every saw that I owned died at some time. They became donors for the live saws. Strip down your old saws and get some kind of 'egg carton' drawer or caddy.Heck, prescription bottles in a metal ammo bucket works.
Plus those old carcasses make good decoys in the back of the truck for the crack heads to dispose of for you :ROFLMAO:

HL Supply has the hardware, I just got 5 and 6 mm screws in various lengths 6 of each….. they are very reasonable and really nice to have on hand . I also keep stock on clutch springs , needle cage bearings, oil/gas caps, etc. I just got in the habit of putting in a frequently used small parts order from time to time. Its been a big time saver

Those are handy assortment packs, and it seems like something that can't go wrong, but I have bought some random nuts and bolts (Through HL Supply mentioned in this thread) and will say they are certainly not OEM quality parts...

It would be even better if they used commonly available hardware when they build the saws... In many cases, there isn't a practical/engineering reason they can't. Obviously there are some things that do require more specialized hardware.

Sadly, my saws seem to be immortal, it has been many years since one died, and I have close to 20.

Perfect, thanks!

I’ve had good luck at a website called
“sawagain.com”. Appears to be an actual small business in Minnesota that happens to have a decent website. Can’t think of a part I needed that they didn’t have. Only downside is shipping fees. Amazon has spoiled me. (And yes, I know I pay a yearly fee for Amazon’s “free” shipping, but I’m confident my wife’s profligate spending has me playing with house money by Memorial Day most years.)
