Saved a garage from a pine

I got a call this morning for an emergency tree. It was cut and set back on the hinge he said. White pine 40+mph winds.
Here is the tree

This was their notch.The ropes I put in and the orange wedges were mine.

I set up a grcs thru a pulley for 1 rope and a lug all for the other

After I took the over center pic I cut the high angle back cut and nipped the "hinge" slightly and it went over.

Well gee, I don't see why it would have started to fall backwards. I mean, isn't the slanted back cut supposed to prevent that from happening?
