Rope ID Help

Personally I wouldn’t let any of my employees climb on an Amazon rope. Even if it has a 9k breaking strength
He's not climbing on that rope here, we have a set of gear for trainee climbers that he is going to use for now, until he gets to the point where he is a real climber and will start to buy his own gear.

I can't stop him from using it to climb on his own time, what he does at home is up to him, but here he will climb on proper gear that we supply.

Technically in our state (if not federal) we are required to provide all basic ppe to employees.

I’ve never worked on a crew that has though. In fact it’s more along the lines of ‘if you want to climb bring your rope and saddle’.
Personally I will buy my guys gear, but on paper I supply the most basic equipment, and will supplement their own equipment. Any personal ppe items they want to use must pass a gear check.
We supply or pay for all basic PPE for our crew members, though ground grew and climbers are treated differently.

Ground crew are simply issued company provided gear, climbers are given a quarterly allowance to buy their own and expected to maintain it. We do that because there is so much variety in climbing gear and everyone has their own preferences. Ground crew gear is not quite the same, there is much less variety and personal preference is not quite so important in performance of one's job.

I’m more loose about it, but sure I will provide a cheap basic saddle etc more at an incentive for them to go out and buy their own stuff. Things like higher end saddles I’ll go 50/50, hitch cords most the time I’ll just cover. Bought a couple pair of saw pants for them etc. ditto boots.
I get a decent discount and pass, and I’ll cover gear costs and we work out small allotments of pay till we reach the negotiated cost share.
That and I kick down $250 per month intended as a health care stipend. They both have pretty good health coverage outside of employment so they can use it as they see fit. Not sure if it’s spent on actual health related stuff and I don’t really care.
