Rope bags

[ QUOTE ]
I like the ropeboss bags fron Sherrill. not sure if the value bag has the fiberglass support (which are AWESOME), but it looks pretty good. I'll probably get it with my next order from Sherrill

In my opinion, all rope bags should be able to withstand the drop.

ropeboss bags suck in this. they are meant to stay on the ground, something I never knew a rope bag ever did.

I'm cheap! I use 35# cat litter buckets.

Ohhhh...I thought we were talking about BAGS

If we were talking about rope storage I would be talking about the differences between using the square litter buckets or the slightly larger rectangular ones. Depends on the rope length. Then, there are the 3 gallon round ones which are nice because they two of them nest together and are about the same height as a five gallon round one.

Should I start a new thread about using cast-off suitcases? Hhehehhehehe!

Back to bags...

Army Navy surplus duffle bag. 20 bucks and it fits 200feet of rope, saddle, spikes w/gaff protectors of course, hard hat, plus another bag with all my little bells and whistles. Definitly not water proof though, or rigid on the sides

Fits a lot of gear! 150' Tachyon, spare hitches, 20' lanyard, and still more room. I think im gonna cut out the tarop and inside pocket for some more room. I dont envision myself ever using them.

I have found a bag for welders helmets and such that works great. Its a "Tillman" brand on it. Black and yellow trim with 1 velcro pocket and 2 mesh pockets. Will hold 200+ of half inch and a 150 of 5/8th. Cost $12.50. If you have a welding supply you may give then a call or stop in, it just may be worth it.

I'm looking for another Metolius bag. i want to ditch my big yellow Buckingham doctors bag altogether.

I want a bag I can fit my climbing line in, saddle, spikes, friction saver, spare biners, slings, etc.

Looking at the Shield, Express, or Canyoneering bags. Anyone know if these would be big enough? I don't want something too big, I might as well keep the big yellow Buck bag.

I saw the half dome in person today, I could fit a small pigmy in there, or FamilyTree in it, way too big for gear.

I just got a Black diamond Bag when i was ordering some ski poles from them. It looks to be about the same as the metolius rope tarp bag. mine was on sale for 32 direct from BD.

I took a few photos of it deployed - this bag has 150' of tachyon in it. I haven;t used it much yet, it being spring bloom and all, but i must say that i like its style. It has a shoulder bag for carrying, a tarp for easy deploy and packing up.
