rope bag for ce lanyard

just wondering if anyone out there uses a small hip rope bag for a long lanyard (around 30ft of rope) I'm thinking about ordering a nice long lanyard but want to try to keep it neat. i was gonna also thinking of getting a small throw line bag (good for 150ft of throw line) not sure if its too small?

thanks

If you daisy chain from the back end toward the adjuster, you only have to untie what you need and the rest can stay all tidied up. When you're in a situation in which you need a really long lanyard, I feel an M-system with the climb line is a better choice, allowing you to run a shorter lanyard. The longest one I have is 12', and I try to keep it chained up as much as possible.

I keep my 15' lanyard in the small red throw line mug, and it works pretty well. Never tried daisy-chain-ing it like that, but I like that if I have more line out than I need and it's getting in the way, I can easily tuck the slack into the bag and be done with it. The daisy chain seems pretty cumbersome to me.
I just ordered the small collapsible throw line bag from tree stuff for an in-tree throw line set up. Going to give it a go and see how I like it.

I have around fifteen feet of beeline (about twelve to thirteen feet inside my Sidewinder), though I just got some hrc from MooseHead, and I am going to try that out. It's as easy as tugging on the cord of our Electrolux vacuum - rolls right back into the Sidewinder and out of the way...

Any of the numerous and varied styles of chaulk bags out there work well for a the length you are talking about. The best are the ones with some form of elastic closure over the top that keeps the slack from falling out, but still allows it to pay out when you need it.

Pat let me know about the HRC and those mods you were talking about. I think HRC might be TOO thin, but I am interested in hearing your experience. I bet you get a bit more in there though!

Pull out the rope you would normally use, daisy chain from behind your slack tender/puller but only half, us a small non rated carabiner to clip in the middle then continue to daisy chain the rest, that way you can easily access more rope without the entire daisy chain coming undone

I use a Small hip bag made by weaver to hold my lanyard. When daisy chained it will fit a 5m lanyard easily.

I run with 13' of Beeline in my Sidewinder and thats a perfect amount for me, no slop and nothing hanging.

Same here. It takes some getting used to because of the weight, but having an easily-adjustable-length lanyard with no tangle-prone loops is so nice.

Because I rec climb mostly I really like my 30' CELanyard, probably would be too long if I was flying about a fluffy tree pruning here and there but for pulling myself everywhere and from tree to tree it works perfect for me.
I keep a leather cambium saver on it so it is even bulkier, but again worth it. Hang it from my saddle in a three fold daisy chain. It extends to my ankle when not in use.
I think I would have a hard time stuffing it in a small bag.

I have 25' fly lanyard stuffed into one of the sherrill ditty bags with the drawstring top- works great and have been running this setup for about a year, also a great place to store the cell phone and lag bolts and thimbles while cabling

thanks for all the ideas, i already have some shorter lanyards i was going to use this sort of like a second climbing system so i wouldnt be using it all the time so stored away in a bag would work better. just looking for the smallest bag that would fit it.

thanks again

Is Paul selling the Sidewinders yet? Or are you lucky dogs just the one's getting to "test" the prototypes?

Someone has to do the hard work!

Check out http://ropetekwraptor.com/contact and send Paul a message. My gut tells me that with well worded request he might have one ready!
