I hope you all will give a moment of silence to acknowledge the loss of an amazing human being and tree Pioneer, Norm Hall. It saddens me to the core to hear of his passing tonight and motivates me to sing his praise. He was an amazing person who always spent time helping others learn about tree work and the joys surrounding it. I will post more later, but RIP Norm. I love you brother. And I will miss you.

Just heard about Norm from Nick's post on IG. So sad. He taught me so much throughout his years here on TreeBuzz.

Was just chatting with him this past spring on the phone after coming back from the crane workshop in PA about his self-equalizing rig for crane picks. Never seen anyone do that before.

Can't believe he's gone.

A true friend. I'm very sad.
I stayed at his house w/ he & his wife Kathy many times for TCC's in IL, WI, etc.

Rip Norm. You vast knowledge and contributions here were invaluable. I enjoyed your well thought out responses to various threads. Learnt a lot from them. They will live on on for many to read .....

A solid man, kind , knowledgeable, respected , one of few people I met in the 90s , from outside my world , who knew what was up , I'm so glad I can say I knew him and talked serious rigging with him back in mid 90 s . I had great respect for him as a person and a fellow Arborist. He is in my top 10 of Arborist I've met since early 90 s . RIP Norm Hall . Raise a glass to a good man !
