Some footage from a couple jobs I've wanted to get up. The first is footage from a Norway Maple i did some weight reduction on. The homeowner has concerns about the weight of a major lead going out over their garage. The union where it originates has included bark and theres wet wood at the union, but it isnt too bad. Please don't why not cable it or do a total removal, cause I was not there for the conversation about what the homeowner wanted, and I know they are tough people to work with. I know in the long term they have plans to remove it, they just wanted keep it for as long as they are comfortable without introducing hardware i guess. seemed more like i was doing "concern reduction" than anything.

The second video is just more of the usual for me, removing trees on the brink of death due to Black Oak Gall Wasp. On the first tree in the video the Gopro died when i was doing ground work, which was a bummer because Matt (SwiftyHTL) went up in the bucket and displayed some slick rigging with our XRigging Rings, then the log truck came in and picked the main stem.
The second tree was just a stout Oak with big wood at the bottom in a tight spot, wrapped in vines. Can you find the Pucker Moment? Ill give you a hint, it was poor rigging positioning on my part, did not use foresite to see where the rope would align.
just sayin, the music to the second one is one of my son's favorite songs. i must be doing something right.
i suggest watching in HD

At around 1:40 in smoking oaks.Cool name for a tree vid by the way Andre. What the hell was thing you attached to the tree !? Pucker moment.. keep them fingers out the way or the oaks won't be the only thing smokin ..?:)
How olds your son ? He likes to rocknroll literally and figuratively? ;) Good work Man!

yeah yeah i was on a different crew for that day, i left my rigging gear in my truck. woulda been a Ringer for sure otherwise. the pucker moment actually came at the last brush head i topped out. the line ran right on a edge of a previous cut. Bonner posted a clip a long time ago of a rigging line snapping while running like that.
my son is 4. he likes a lot of led zepplin so he just refuses to believe that any rock song he likes is anyone but lead zepplin

oh yeah, mike im running that 3/4" bollard. i actually liked it with the 1/2" at first, cause the arrowfrog is kinda swollen from being used, but i also have a Luna line thats pretty new that needs to be used with 3/4", so i leave it with that. it doesnt run as perfect as with my newer line, but i tear it up on that thing on either line now!
but you best believe a Powerscender is the next piece to my SRT removal set up

Just wondering what your using. I really like the yale 11.7 lines. I have been using a 7/16" bollard on the outboard frction link with a 5/8" bollard. Works awesome and smooth but if there is a lot of rope in the system it will creep on your ass.

Guess I'm just still dialing it all in.

and hit me up if your looking for the powerscender my man. At this point, I think treestuff will have my products for sale in the next 2 months or so (total guess, yet slightly educated). Just PM me when your time is ready : ) I will say right off the bat too, treestuff has been nothing but a pleasure to work with on this project. Very grateful, especially to Luke

yeah when im pruning on my newer Luna line, it will start to creep s smidge after a while of going up and down on the same section of rope, but its a manageable thing.
glad to hear treestuff is treating you good with regards to the Powerscender, thanks for finding ways to bring it to the masses
