Resistograph/Radar/Sonar

Hey All,

I've got a customer that has a Quercus rubra with an elephant's foot. Here is the kicker, the "foot" is 3 feet above grade. There are cracks visible but not flexing and there is a small amount of slime flux exuding. from the base of one crack.

Not sure of the extent of decay and would like to put a resistograph or other detection device to it for a better picture.

Anyone near Burlington Vermont have one and willing to come do a test?

A test, like free? Gee...

What did the mallet say?

Does the flux have an odor? viscosity?

size and placement of cracks?

as always, a p[icture...

you could try contacting the tree radar guy; he's in the NE...

Get ahold of try Doug wade from Ny ISA,think he works for Davies tree and shrub. Sorry a pic would be nice just to see what this flux. The only flux that I have seen is when trees are planted over a steam lines cracks and galls form and when they open a wierd looking goo and flux comes out and 99.9% of the time "timber" comes the tree.
