I had a kid climb for me years ago. He had a butterfly saddle and had never changed the bridge. After inspecting it we resolved the saddle would be put out of service until we changed it out.
He was ignorant about this very important wear item and others like him don’t realize that the bridge is a WEAR ITEM like your brakes or chipper anvil or the soles on your boots. They wear out and need to be changed.
