Remedy or Removal

If support is added to pull/hold that crack together,

why prune?

Hackberry very supple, and those branches are not so tip heavy or asymmetrical that they need clipping.

Support the structure by standard, and crown clean only; maaaaybe light thinning here and there. this kind of job i usually underbid support/pruning and highball removal, due to bias.

I meant to say, due to company policy.

So Stacy, what does your grizzled guru sayeth?

Thanks for the feedback everyone. The idea from the start was to retain the tree for as long as possible. I just sent the proposal today to install a proper cable and brace rods as well as crown reduction not to exceed 20% of live wood. And focusing that more on the trunk leaning toward the house. Oh and remove the chain after the new hard ware is installed.
