Reduced to remove?

I liked that very much. If your going to post a video to the public it should include the, "why", the tree was removed testimonial as yours did. The tree deserves it and people who don't know much about trees can understand better the reasons why arborist do as they do.

What was that large saw you where using up there? Seemed a bit large for that tree, no?

I make a habit of bringing it in the tree as much as possible so that I am always practiced and ready for the big cuts. I do the same on the ground.
I will grab it for simple limbing as well.
Plus it saves alot of wear and tear on my 200t and 260.

I have a confession.
I am 660 addict. I can't get enough.
The flying saw chips, crazy rpm, the feel and force of that tiger in your hands is crazy crazy explosive mind blowin adrenaline pumpin fun!
Plus throw in hangin from a thread.

Cheers

I like my 660 too. I've never had it a tree. Although I would if the opportunity rose. I use it mostly for milling. It is different from other saws, kinda like a small car.

Shhhh!
Funny you should say this. Today I used it to help pull me up the muddy bank. Set er down on the fallin logs and throttle away and up I go.

I hear the Quebecers have chainsaw races on ice skates with modified chains I presume.

Don't mean to burst your bubble.. and ya its fun to blow through a cut with a big saw... HOWEVER... you needlessly one handed the big saw while you pushed the top with the other hand.. May not have been that dangerous in this particular scenario, but it is a VERY BAD HABIT, and judging by the way you handled that climbing saw, you could stand to improve your saw handling in a tree.. This isn't just about one handing. Its about one handing in a bad position, and one handing, needlessly*, when you could have made a better cut and set the chain brake, then pushed.. if you keep cutting like that you could get away with it for an entire career, or NOT.. it only takes one mishap to change your life forever! Be careful..

*If you had made a notch, instead of a kerf, you could have made the back cut, set the saw, then pushed... simple enough

Good for you RopeShield. The worm is dangling there on the hook and you just swim past. Very admirable.

If it was Daniel's video he would have given 101 reasons why it was okay for him to do it!

Agree 100%.

Also could have used a skidsteer, but that's just nit-picking.

There is a lesson to learn here...

On your terms of course. There is NO WAY there are any lessons to be learned from climbing under a backcut notch, not wearing PPE, and yanking the hell out of ropes with machinery. NO WAY.

Safety awareness in this case should transcend egos, needing to be right, personalities etc.. There is a lesson to learn here... that just might save a life.. sounds like rope "got it"

Funny when people give you the same potentially life saving advice you just get defensive and tell them they're so dumb they don't even understand your techniques.

watched it on my cell phone at lunch today and ahhh, pretty much sucked. Especially hated the music, so did a co-worker that heard me listening to it. Sorry, better luck next time.
