redneck chipper blade sharpening

Ok So I realize this isn't the perfect way to sharpen blades but in an extreme volume company we need sharp blades and have little time for changing and transporting to and from sharpeners if one can be found. So heres my way of increasing serviceable knife life......

$60 dollar belt sander kills it

I"ll try the belt sander, if I can access it. I think I can get an angle-grinder in my chipper. I think a fine sanding disc would be the same. Yes, no?

I use one of those hand-held manual sharpeners for touching up. I get a lot of life out of my blades, even with machine-feeding, IF were are careful and pick up, not scoop up things that are going into the chipper.

Hardware stores/ rental stores often have blade drop-off/ Pick-up set-up with pro sharpening services. Saves a trip/ shipping costs.

I've paid $0.60-$1 per inch.

Ask if they sharpen planer blades.
