rear mount or center mount bucket

Bull,

I'm knot looking for a fight. There's enough of those guys already out there. I've seen your posts and you know your stuff. I just thought I would share my 2 cents. I know alot of guys that swear by the rear mounts and it works for them. I guess I just have a bad taste in my mouth. There was a company next door to where I was working one day and they had one and they filled the chip truck with two loads of chips then another load of logs and I had the same out of debris and only had to make one trip to the dump at lunch. And classic is right the crane cane do everything the bucket can and even more.

If you do go for the crane go for a rear mount though, keeps the cab away from the tree and you still get the same deck to load on. The biggest benefit of having a rear mount crane is the capacity, obviously the closer you are to the pick the more you can pick and without a 20-25' deck in the way you reduce your radius by that much.

No sweat man, tuis is a DISCUSSION forum, thats what we are menat to do, discuss.

Your post is a bit confusing, did you mena to say they had a forestry and filled it 3 times, and you with your rear mount crew, and obviousluy larger chip truck only filled once? Or did the rear mount crew use a small chip truck, and thats why they filled twice?

If your looking for equipment mainly for removals, your gonna want a crane.A crane will smoke a bucket in productivity hands down.I'm talking about removals only, pruning is obviously another story.
