We love our 83 cmc and never ran a easy lift but hear great things about them also
A lot of problems I think are operator error and owner errors
But I’m sure there are some lemons out there always is with any product

Rick, did you end up purchasing a lift? Which did you go with? I'm trying to decide between those three myself. I've had a CMC 83' for the past four years.

I researched and demo'd all 3. I went with Tracked Lift '72 arbor by arbor. Most durable imo. Not as may features as CMC - Mine doesn't self level (if you have run equipment, this will not be an issue. Less than 2 minutes set up). Outriggers configure in one set up pattern only. This omits need for many sensors. A plus to me.
Talk to owner of TL, he was very knowledgeable on the differences. Their salesman not as much. If you can go to New Oxford, PA make the trip. No remote control, basket controls are wired right to main. A plus in my book.
CMC does have its very own facebook page for all the troubleshooting issues, check it out for yourself.

Uplift did interested me. Lightest by far in their class, some days this is a plus. Heard good things from them.
But light also means not as much steel. TL frame, chassis and outriggers are built like an tank. Just couldn't pull the trigger on Canada. We all have issues and need service. Both TL and All Access are 4 hrs from me. If I was close to Up, I'd might have went that way. Where are you located?

I'm not saying I am 100% correct and mine is the best, just made my decision and 14 months in zero issues. When you go into the larger tracked lifts, more sensors are in the design and over 10,000lbs (their 107' is 13,000 lbs! That's a heavy weight). If I go into the 101 range, good chance I'll take a very long look at the UP Equipment.

Hope this helps. Ask any questions.

IMO
No manufacturer makes the best lift in all models
For example
72’ tracked lift
83’ cmc
107’ up equipment
Not 100% on each model or manufacturer besides the 83’ that I did research on

Just for perspective and reliability I’m going on my 8th season with my easy lift. Only replaced a few hoses. Put a fresh battery in it. Still a solid machine runs like the day I got it. Funny how almost no ones running Tuepens anymore isn’t it? :birra:
Mid west Vermeer started selling tuepen last year and now see more of them than ever

But local service people feel more comfortable

not my choice

Thanks for your feedback guys, thats helpful. Between searching these forums and studying the specs sheets of the lifts I feel very informed about all the important aspects of these lifts except boom speed. One of the most important factors for productivity is how quickly the lift can move in the air. But I don't see how to measure that besides actually using each machine for a few hours. Can anyone comment on that?

You get used to the slower speed then a bucket truck. Can still slam out the trees faster, safer and more efficiently then climbing and not go home beat up or dead tired at the end of the day.;)

I still believe because of set ups and different positioning in the sky (squirting in and out and bucket rotation) makes the efficiency better than having a speed advantage of a bucket truck
So yes totally agree

Has anyone experienced Cela lifts?
The omme still seems to be the benchmark right now. I think reliability and stability are the most important considerations.
The CMC seems a little light IMO and has limited reach capacity.
The Easy-Lift 101-48 looks like a real nice machine and they have good reviews. The side reach is awesome which helps not having the unit under the tree. However, they are in Canada and there isn’t any dealers that can work on them in the US. You’re kind of on your own if anything happens. I don’t care what you buy, new equipment can still have issues.

A rear mount elevator can hit pretty much everything at least in my area (except for the monster tulips) If you know how to climb and can get creative there aren’t too many trees you can’t do. Sometimes just subbing out to the guy with a lift is the way to go. I don’t know if I would want to be 90 feet up in one of those lifts any ways!

There’s a place not too far from me that sells/rents them, lots of sensor issues not really rugged for tree work, I know a few guys that Demo‘d them had major issues and let’s just say didn’t buy one. A lot of us here are running easy lifts. Dependable, rugged, no computer nonsense Straight forward machines.
