RAVE!!!! cheap ($) fold down throwline cube

i found a heavy duty, pvc/canvas coated cube, that fold down like the Faltimer throwline cube, but for less than 8 bucks CDN (5 USD) .

Folding%20Sink.jpg

made by CHINOOK TECHNICAL OUTDOOR, the cube is bright yellow PVC coated canvas, is about 12" x 12" x 8" high, and folds down flat. (its a camp wash basin that folds up)

easy to flake the throwline into it, holds a ton of line, and the line deploys fast from the cube.

Wow, that's a great bargain. Do you have any pictures of the item in the real life arb world? How does it fold up and how is it kept together. Don't the walls collapse while unfolded?

no pics in real life (i have no camera)

it folds up exactly like the Faltiemer Cube sold elsewhere. Once it pops open, the rigid rods at the top keep it open. it folds down to a small 12" x12" x 1" high square (FLAT), easy to stow

so it doesnt go to a triangle like the falteimer?
i wonder what the rods are like, the ones in the faltiemer could do with being stronger

it sort of folds triungular like, but i keep getting a square..hahahaha

the rods are pretty stiff.

for about 5 bucks USD you cant go wrong.

its a folding wash basin for camping. made of PVC coated canvas, fill it with water, wash your camp dishes or face etc.....should be easy to find in any camping store.

Well have you purchased one? And what store did you get it from? I asked chinook for a catalog and they said they don't do that since they're a whole saler.

If you want to get rid of some burning money in your wallet, give it to charity.

I've tried one last week in a Outdoor shop in our town. Here it is sold for € 24,95 for the small (10 liters)and € 29,95 for the 20 liters one.
It's one hell of a clumsy fold that doesn't resemble a Falteimer cube at all. Fold it in a Falteimer is hold it. It keeps the line and bags in place and you can hang it anywhere without the worry's that something pops out.
There are probably a zillion things you can do with the 'eco dishwasher' but storing a throwline and bags is definitely not one.

HAHAHHA, 24 Euros? DAMMMMN thats pricy!!!! i paid less than 5 bucks canadian.

and it has worked great every day since i got it. I have 12' feet of Slickline flaked into it, with a 12oz weaver throwbag. Set it down on the ground, toss my line/weight, done.

works for me. Your milage might vary.

Isn't there anyone near you with a digital camera? Even the most common used mobile phones have one on board. You are making me very curious on how you fold it and keep it folded for storage.

The Sherrill cubes don't have the sewn in corner fabric, so there is a chance the throwline gets stuck in the corner.

As a friend of mine said last week:

The guy that produces the falteimer should get his head out of his a ss and reduce the price to a more sensible level.
Development has been paid back well. If he keeps up these price rates someone else will start to produce a truly similar product and starts fishing the same pond.

I use the fold 'n hold bag and have never had a problem with the line catching in a corner.

The larger falteimer bag but the price is way out of line!
