Rate my Fat hinge

I missed the whole part about why such a big hinge.
Was it over tensioned and went early?


I missed something in the thread... What was the decay-causing organism/ disease in the tree with the hinge shown?

Lack of line of sight with the yarder, pre tension, communicate face cut, communicate back cut, then pull.
I was in bight of rigging, so safer to step away and direct to pull. Tree on ground/away from house was really the only goal, so no nipping needed
