I know there is a rant and rave section but I need to get some things off my chest about the company I worked for. I just got laid off yesterday, due to the fact that one we have no work and two since I don't have a family. That was the reason I was given for them keeping a recovering meth addict who doesn't have any real skills. Also one of our other guys who has been with the company the longest got laid off. His is for a month or so but I guess mine is permanent or for a long time. The plan was that the tree care division was going to expand, so they hired in a new guy and spent a lot of money moving him to town and dropped money on him for gear and everything else. His work quality is not good at all. I watched what was supposed to be a crown cleaning on a tree this week turn into a lion tailing. He is a certified arborist and does this kind of work? Plus he is a cdl trainer or so he says and can't drive a manual transmission to save his own back side. This is the same company that when I had my accident and was off didn't pay for a thing and didn't even talk about a workman's compensation claim. Instead the insurance I had through my father paid for most of it and the rest was paid out of pocket. Plus they said that they let me go since I am young. I know the economy is bad but so you screw the people that have been with the company for the longest. So now I have been screwed by the company twice. If you have made it this far do you think I should file against them for the workman's compensation?
