Rant

I know there is a rant and rave section but I need to get some things off my chest about the company I worked for. I just got laid off yesterday, due to the fact that one we have no work and two since I don't have a family. That was the reason I was given for them keeping a recovering meth addict who doesn't have any real skills. Also one of our other guys who has been with the company the longest got laid off. His is for a month or so but I guess mine is permanent or for a long time. The plan was that the tree care division was going to expand, so they hired in a new guy and spent a lot of money moving him to town and dropped money on him for gear and everything else. His work quality is not good at all. I watched what was supposed to be a crown cleaning on a tree this week turn into a lion tailing. He is a certified arborist and does this kind of work? Plus he is a cdl trainer or so he says and can't drive a manual transmission to save his own back side. This is the same company that when I had my accident and was off didn't pay for a thing and didn't even talk about a workman's compensation claim. Instead the insurance I had through my father paid for most of it and the rest was paid out of pocket. Plus they said that they let me go since I am young. I know the economy is bad but so you screw the people that have been with the company for the longest. So now I have been screwed by the company twice. If you have made it this far do you think I should file against them for the workman's compensation?

Yup!!!

Does the other climber produce more than you and the other guy? Is he paid less per hour?

Or is it the biggy he has the papers that make him worth more then his skills really are?

The other guy is one of the top climbers in the state and the new guy is paid more and they have more money invested in him. The other climber that got laid off and myself knock stuff out quickly running a two man crew. I mean it was like clockwork as the two of us had worked together for a summer with another company. So we both were taught the same and everything just rolled. Plus the new guy that stayed has broken a lot of stuff since he started. We're talking trucks, bushes, windows, landscaping timbers, and all sorts of things. Things have been missing since he started. He lost a new carabiner and it got ran through the chipper.

wouldnt go back to that place even if they gave a raise. File for workers comp reimbursement, and unemployment bennies.

Then send me your resume! We are looking to hire a few good clean cut hard workers.

You are better off, not being there . I am watching a comp here doing that crap with couple of climbers and slowing watching the comp going under for all the mistakes. So just keep your eyes open and postive view you will get hooked up soon. As for the comp. here I have 150' or rope, 200t stihl, couple rakes, and pair of chaps I picked up when the homeowner called us thinking we left it when doing their neighbors trees. I am going to drop off the equipment tomarrow. To bad they couldnt have left their chipper
