rain gear for climbers?

Not knowing the weight of fabric you're interested in, I have had great success with fishing raingear from Cabela's, Bass Pro, and sailing raingear from West Marine. Both of these activities are always wet environments, and the participant must stay dry.

Nothing makes a great head start with raingear as bibs. The overlap is critical if you want to stay dry through the worst of it.

Light rain is okay, in tree climbing, when it pours it's kinda of not so good, a wet rope doesn't work so well, some trees types are downright slippery, I would rather wait till its dries up...................

Personally, I use a Patagonia rain jacket and if it really pours I'll wear Grundens rain pants over my saw pants. Most of the time in a light rain I would rather just wear chainsaw pants without rain pants because I get so overheated when I wear them.

Agreed, it’s more about keeping warm when wet than avoiding getting wet. I’ve been known to take 3 different sets of top layers to work with me. I’ve yet to find a functional rain coat that doesn’t turn into a a wet sauna, or one that actually works..
I’ve used wet suit base layers (chafe) and they will keep you warm enough to wear sleeveless in some of the worst rains. Now temps between freezing and 40 just suck all around, and very glad to be somewhat coastal

Arborwear just came out with The Dripline Jacket in black and one is HVSA C3 Safety Yellow. The black one is a stretch nylon fabric and the HVSA Is a stretch polyester fabric. Both are waterproof with fully taped seams, packable, & vented zip pits for breathability. Arborwear Dripline Jacket
