Question about Geckos

About to purchase a new set of climbing spikes, and was considering the Geckos. anyone use these have any info concering them? Pros or cons. whats with the "contoured leg iron?" and how are the gaffs? I would be using them for removals as well as palms.

They are very light weight and perform very well. The gaffs are quite different from i.e. Buckinghams and needs a time to get used to. They are easier to gaff out on thin stems.

I swichted to the smaller pole gaffs on the geckos and now I love them. They work well on palms also

do they have pole gaffs available for the gecko? or are the buckinghams compatible? where'dya get em?

I got mine from Sherrilltree same order # as regular just add a "P" to the order.

I have a set and I love them. I guess it didn't take much getting used to since those were the first pair I ever climbed on and then I loved them so I bought my own and it was love.

still switch back to my 3" buckinghams for punky pines

do the buckingham gaffs fit the gecko? or i guess you switch pairs of climbers, not just the gaffs.

I switch pairs- the buckingham and gecko gaffs aren't interchangeable.

Both long and short straight gaffs are now made from geckos I just like the short ones

Scotty, where did you get the short ones. The bent ones are weird to climb in, if your not used to it.

Yea I bought just the gaffs $80.00, I think you can get them now with the shorties. Either way I love em....

Got the Geckos. They rock, and the pole gaffs are nice too. Cant believe how much lighter they are than my steel bucks. Thanks again scotty.
