Pulley saver 2.5

I got my Pulley saver from the great guys at Treeworker UK last week and I must say that this is one useful tool! 2 things I dont like and that is the retrieval snap is hard to clip your line into unless you twist your rope into it. Taufelbergers rope of choice is yet to be desired because its a very loose double braid that can pick pretty easy. I find this extremely effective in your daily climbing tasks as far as saving energy! When they hit the states I suggest everyone add it to your gear bags.

At a recent Treemagineers Workshop Chris Cowell explained the purposeful design of the snap.

It is deliberate, and so that you can not have a bight of rope run over the snap effectively opening the gate and freeing the line, rolling out from the snap. If you try that with any old similar sized wire gate mini biner you can make the rope roll out. On this snap 2 bights of rope will not fit in the gate opening making it impossible to have that occur.

One of many little design intricacies in this product that aren't at first apparent.

That is very useful info to have trev, as I was thinking the same thing when I tried to fit my line into the retrieval snap.

Good to know that the guys actually designed it this way with a purpose.
