Prussik Cords

Size of Prussik Cord

HRC is 8 mm only, but Sherril has bee-line at both 8mm and 10mm. I climb on a poison ivy rope 11.7mm and have found my prussik cord was easier to grab when I used the Tenox cord(10 mm) from Sherril with 1/2" rope. Will the 10 mm bee-line handle nicely since my climbing rope is 11.7 mm? There is a pretty big diferrence between a 1/2" line and 11.7 mm.

Re: Size of Prussik Cord

HRC is great. Extremely heat resistant. Very supple with great gripping power. Tensile strength of 6100 lbs.

I use it with the Knut hitch for both SRT and DbRT (climbing line is KM III Max) with no problems whatsoever.

Re: Size of Prussik Cord

I just aquired a new fly this weekend of the orange color and some new Bee Llne. I really like this combo over my blaze with the HRC. The HRC has too much grip for me and its a bit small to handle burning my fingers. I have 10mm with spliced ends. I figure it was worth splicing with how long it will last. I couldnt ever justify splicing an eye on sta set. I dont splicing so much to make up new cords every couple days or everyday.
