Powers spur scender

Seriously thinking about the Big Buck pads
I have the Weaver velcro wrap pads on my Bashlins and the Buck velcro wrap pads on my Buc alloys.
Love them both. Previously my Bashlins had the felt padded T-pads. They were good for years, till I wore 'em out. I have an old set of Buck steelies with felt pads with double leg straps. Comfy but heavy pads on heavy climbers. I vote for the velcro pads .... they are like driving a Cadillac.
BTW those are the pads with steel inserts.
Read Mert's post above for the Powersender install. My hat's off to you for carrying them steel weights around Oldoak!

Took a large drill and chamfered the top hole (I think), which was a pain because of the washer insert. Took the large gaff mount bolt out and installed the ascender on the inside or the shank with a 1/4" longer gaff bolt. Once loaded it locked in against the gaff, I re tightened and it hasn't moved since.
I'll try to get pictures today when they go back in my truck.[/QUOTE]
I'm going to have to see what you did and how you mounted it.

I did notice she was a bit loose today when I was setting up for my pine tree, but a simple turn of an Allen key fixes that.

Didn't know how I would like it this far back but it works pretty good. It has skipped on occasion but I attribute that to the angle of me trying to walk up and tend line.IMG_0067.webp
The single bolt has done very well for me so far. Line I said it's gotta be about and 1/8" longer but 1/4" is more available. I got allan key because I thought it would be easier to get tight.IMG_0068.webp
When in use it locks in against the shank and doesn't move. As long as you tighten it in this position I haven't had any issues.
If the backing plate had been blank (no big holes) I was going to drill and tap the shank for mounting. But there was 3 holes so it wasn't gonna work.
Also it being inside the shank has absolutely no effect on my twig legs. No contact with my shoe at all.

So I've reached the place where the backing on the rivet for the toothed powerscender cam appears to have fled the scene, but the ascender still hasn't separated fully from the backing plate yet, nor does it even appear to be loose. Yesterday was spent on and off in the Cave of Wonders with rapid set epoxy application all along the edges and an application to the center cutout on the toothed side of the ascender. Has anyone had experience with an epoxy fix lasting OK? Or is it better to just toss the powerscender into the US equipment pile (UnServiceable) as a great idea but faulty execution?? Insights appreciated.

Can you snap a picture?

Sorry for the delay - Calgary Stampede here and also World Cup - between the two, nothing much is getting done!
These pics are post goop - don't have any as starting point.
What I would say is that the cam rivet didn't look like it had any crimped bit left unlike in the middle picture just above.IMG_8577.webp

when mine broke (the backing plate broke) I used machine screws with nylon lock nuts in the existing holes and drilled another hole through the ascender and the backing plate to install another screw. It has worked well.
