pine sap on rope

hey guys what do you guys do to remove pine sap from your climbing ropes? My sap rope is gummed up big and my prussik rope is getting so tight that it is frustrating to use it. if you guys have any suggestions i would appreciate it

“Sap Zaprrr” from Wesspur. It’s safe for rope and other textiles. Climbing Sugar Pines out here in the Sierra sap is a serious problem. I’ve tried all manner de-sapping techniques and nothing works as well.

Curiously, searching for "sap removal" seems to exclude the word "sap" as being too common! Hmmm. I think there are other older discussions on "sap removal" as well though?

I just get my rope dirty after or on the next job and work it off...helps to have a mechanical multicender instead of hitch cord too...

I think sap is a three letter word, which cannot be searched on the buzz. The way to get around it is to search the buzz via google.
