photos of old cables

does anyone have any photos of old broken cables, hardware or girdling rope cable I can use for a presentation I am making? I will make sure you get credit.
Thanks!

None of properly installed rated hardware, but I can look for some old pictures of come-alongs left in trees, and steel cables wrapped around each lead and clamped back to themselves.

Are you looking for shoddy/homeowner type cabling or professionally installed but not maintained cables?

professionally installed

Here are some. Posted these on another thread. They were “professionally installed” in the sense that they were put in by an actual tree service company, but obviously it was not a “professional“ installation. Whoever did this was an idiot. Photos are of me “uninstalling” the rope. 1AFB4A8C-1163-4C51-A839-185A88763BE8.jpeg1270817A-9F93-4DBC-8035-3367CFDF493A.jpeg41726799-F0CA-4BA5-AE36-96BF26C52C89.jpeg

Not the best photos but I came across this montage...All from 1 tree! I didn't install any of this.

Jackpot. Strange how professionals could be so reckless with these installs. Some of those are just absurd, and then I see an EHS Rig Guy install. Assuming only pros use the Rig Guy system, but then they neglect to trim the excess strands after install. Basic stuff. Boils down to a problem we have: how do we get employees to simply care? (It’s not as simple as more money, in my experience)

Employees caring is difficult unless it’s very intentional. It’s successful if: the owner cares, he practices what he preaches, he qualifies employees and pays well, he trains well, he puts procedures in place, he holds people accountable when procedures are not followed, photographs of completed work are viewed by owner if he’s not on site. It all starts at the top.

I have a rope cable sitting near my shop, no photos of the tree though... there is nothing holding it together, and it was supporting a triplefucation (bifucation with three?) on a 200' doug.. union was about 60'-70' and each stem was greater than 28" diameter.

How did they terminate EHS onto a J lag? Stuff won’t bend and sure isn’t spliceable.
