Photogenic removal

Hard telling not knowing correct me if im wrong, but in the second pic it looks like his tip fc sling and biner is a none locking biner. Steal toe hiking boots is all I'll wear to work. And im prettt sure top handle saws are desighned so well balanced to be run one handed when need be!

The risk may be more than one handing the saw, using a saw over your head in any situation could be detrimental.
Accidents are usually the result of more than just one bad choice.
One handing over your head isn't good, add heat, being tired and the need to speed things up... bad happens!

Orrrrrrr you get the job done!

Nice pics.

Somebody came and took the wood for firewood?? White pine?

Wow, I'll have to check out that Craig's list thing.

You have missed your calling; you should have been a photographer; those pictures are great!! It also meant alot to me that you included all of the details including cost, man hours and the lowering of the bid. these things are really helpful to those of us who don't really have it all together yet.

Sure it's a non locker. Same as rock climbers use for every protection placement when on lead. Look again, that sling is just there to assure that, if the lifeline came off the two stubs that Mickey has it around, he'd still be crotched in..with at most a 4 foot fall.

Don't like steel toe boots...besides, there's too many great hiking boots to choose from, and none are normally made with toe protection.

One handed use has been beat to death....in the arb mags as well, lately. good not to teach beginners the practice....but in the real world, it's the only way to fly. With some trees, where only a few cuts need to be made, it isn't needed. But with a run of the mill conifer removal, (or any tree with tons of small limbs)
where speed is key, it is physically impossible for anyone, no matter how competent, to even come close to getting the job done as quickly and efficiently using two hands as with one.

Thanks Miss Lee..

Errrr, I sold my first photo to a Wa State Tourism publication circa 1982. Went on to score at least 20 covers over the years, mostly local sports rags...commercial work for ski areas and clothing companies, and a fair bit of national mag exposure. 95% downhill skiing.

If I ever find the time, I'll give it a go again..last pub work was about year 2000. Besides some in arbo mags....more of that would be in the works if I'd pursue it....time is an issue.

Yup, and we got rid of 3 cords of Lombardy poplar the same way this week! Tons of responses, few folks turned up their noses at this lousy wood! Times are tough, what with heating oil and gas prices where they are.
