I used to wear out the Stihl forestwear pants pretty quickly, So I bought a pair of the Pfanner Gladiators 3 years back.
Now I look after my gear but I'm not soft on it either, and to my surprise these pants are still usable, however the zipper is long gone, the crotch stitching is worn out and they look a bit shabby in general.
So I ordered a new pair some months back thinking now I don't climb so often I will probably get twice as long out of them.
To my horror though they went and changed the design, and the two most important features on the pants in my opinion, Firstly the old pants had ankle length zippers which made lacing up high leg boots a breeze. Gone on the new pair.
Secondly the indestructible rubberised Kevlar on the knees and inner leg has been replaced with a lightweight patch of cloth!
I just seems like as with most products these days they are purposely not being made to last, However Pfanner have lost me as a loyal customer. There product is now as cheap and nasty as many of the others on the market, only with the bigger price tag still.
