Pfanner Gladiator COOL Ventilation

Hi leafguy,

I believe this company in England has what you are looking for...and I know you said North Amarica, but I was recently over in England at this retail store and was talking to one of the owners and he told me that they are in the process of setting up some sort of retail capababilites in Canada (where I'm from) so maybe in the states too. Even if you had them shipped (the pound is pretty weak compared to what it used to be) you might still come out ahead, don't know? You could e-mail and ask...but if you have never used Pfanner pants...they are super! I don't think you will be disappointed. Hope it helps (even if it isn't really what you asked)

Thanks for that info. I'll check out the site. Never had a pair of pfanners and am about to pull the pin on some.

I had some smuggled from Austria - just order online yourself from a supplier anywhere in the EU. Customs is going to kill you though. .

Actually Nora, they are different.
The new orange (road safety) Gladiator's that I have are too waterproof. Very hot and sweaty. My gladiator Cool Vents are way better! Those pants have less layers, the outer fabric isn't as waterproof and there are several ventilation openings (mesh on the waist front). Too bad they don't come in orange too.

Treestuff have some labelled, Pfanner Arborist Chainsaw Pants. A little more mobile then the gladiators I guess. Looked into some pants from Europe but the price is to much after all the duties etc.

I might give those Arborist ones a try, just not sure on the sizing. I'm a 31 waist. So not sure on the small or mediums as I'm right on the line for the smalls. Any thought on the sizing?

I have the Arb Glads from TreeStuff and I don't think I will ever have to shop for pants again. My opinon on the coolness is below 70f no problem and over that just a tad warm but bareable. If I get mud on them I just hose em off, no water has gotten through. Climbing in them is a sinch. And then the fact that your protected from the mighty saw, well...

I knocked over an ol' lady for mine, what will you do for yours?
