Pfanner Gladiator Chainsaw Pants

I have old husky's sip 5.1 6.1 hi-flex and a pair of pfanners and the pfanners are by far superior. They are all hot but I've worn all pairs in up to 85 degree heat with ohio river valley humidity (bad but not deep south or tropics by any means) and the pfanners were the "coolest". Again they are all pricey but what is more expensive? 300-400 dollar pants that last couple years or not being able to do tree work for at least a couple of weeks up to forever? Cheap insurance imo.

You only get so many washes before they don't pass the tests for protection any more. Check the tags to see exactly how many you get. I think the SIPS say 20 washes and then dispose of them.

Mark, are you sure about that number? If you wash them weekly, that's less than half a year!

Not 100% sure, but pretty close.

The rep from SIPS told me that last year.

I can't find such a declaration in my 5 Pfanners. If that's so for those too than I am wearing very dangerous

pants.
They are in the washing machine weekly so wearing Pfanner would be a very expensive hobby. 2.5 Pants per year

Don´t see any reason why they should be washed every week, they don´t hold on to the dirt like cotton pants. Choose the grey ones and you´re on the safe side for a long time. Should I try and get you a pair when you´re over, Mark. I believe last time your measures were XS+14cm, have you got a more humaN (MALE) waist by now?

S or 32"

Just have a little caution when ordering the pants, they seem to run a tiny bit big. I ordered regular stretch airs for my husband, and had to wait for a month to get the right size after having to mail the first pair back. The orange gladiators are on my birthday wish list, and the man said "heck no!" But I would look so good in them! LOL!!

Your right, but once every fortnight would be nice. especially during summertime (when the sweat is on).

I would return them if you bought from sherrill, no matter what they look like. For $400 you should get more than a year.

If you want to patch the pants, try an outdoor sports store like REI for a Schoeller (soft shell) fabric repair kit.

Tore out the crotch??? I thought they were designed for climbing! That is one of my pet peeves with chainsaw pants. Usually the first thing to go is the crotch because they're designed for use on the ground not in the tree.

$400 bucks should buy more than almost a year. I'd want 2-3 for that kind of coin.

James call Pfanner and ask them for a replacement pair. I'd say that is a defect in workmanship.

They honour defective stitching 100%, call your point of purchase. Had my pair back in a week and it's been going strong since. I think they've addressed the stitching issue with this year's batch though.

Thats great to hear. Mistakes can happen, its how they are dealt with that is what is important. Great service makes great companies.

I'm very disapointed by Pfanner Canada and Niagara Durable Wear, I bought my pants from them last summer and when I emailed both of them after writing my last post I have yet to recieve anything more than an email telling me that they got my email.

I went ahead and sewed them myself because I couldn't stand walking around with a big hole just below my zipper for another week.

a lot of people looking for cooler summer pants. wear under armour tights and you will never go without them. keep your boys cool.

the stitching issue seems to be pretty commonplace with pfanner products, i emailed pfanner directly since my dealer no longer carries their products. I have not had any response at all. and yhe dealer i went through said they would follow up on this and nothing. I have lost all hope, I have put some iron-on patches and sewed the patch around and along the seams. Seems to be holding but i will not likely buy another pair. I was assured when i bought them they would last far longer than 3 pairs of jeans, they did not last as long as one.........pitiful
