Petzl Vertex Vent - Eyes and Ears

Having trouble finding good ear muffs and mesh face shield for the Vertex Vent? Thanks to swingdude (Paul D) for this tip. He told me to try it awhile back. Took me awhile but worth the wait.

So, get yourself the Husqvarna hardhat with faceshield and earmuff system from Lowes, or wherever Huskys are sold. Sometimes you can find just the replacement parts if you're lucky, and you won't have to buy the whole hardhat. That system works splendidly with the Vertex.

I have found the Husky earmuffs the be vastly better (quieter, more comfortable) than any other brand, and I think I've tried them all. Put a set on my Vent several years ago and they fit great!

There really are no mesh faceshields available for this helmet, which is my favorite hat. I searched hard before I found this mod so figured I'd pass it on.

I like my Kask in winter but that's about it. And these earmuffs seal so much better.

got a link Tom. the one i ordered didn't work. the face mask had a 3" gap at top when closed and only covered half the face. more like a lone ranger mask.

try a google search for muffs and mask for the vent.

The gap is covered by the rain shield.

that still doesn't solve that lower half of my face was exposed. sherrill removed it as an acceptable option on their site when i sent the pics of mine and they tried to replicate the setup. they had the same issue in house.

i'll try to find a pic of mine and show you. but if you like it, can't fault that. just not for me.
