Petzl Sequoia sizing

Hey all, last week I ordered a Petzl Sequoia SRT in size 2. I am within the waist size range for both (36 waist) so I figured i would go up and get the 2 just in case i would be to get fatter (not my plan but didnt want to shell out $345 again). Well i put it on in the living room, fresh from it's neat little bag and much to my dismay i discovered that the leg loops would not cinch down on my little chicken legs. What a surprise as I am not a "little" guy. So the point of this post is that anyone considering this purchase should stay abreast of this potential problem as the retailers may not list the leg loop sizes on their web sights or in their catalogs. Check Petzls web sight for this info as I would hate to misrepresent the company. Hope i can save you the $90 shipping charge I had to pay to get the proper size to me. After having that harness on I could not put on my Weaver single Dee saddle again unless my Sequoia is broken and I have NO money. As far as the saddle goes I have climbed in it a couple times and could not be more pleased, I am climbing in modern comfort now.

Petzl's new 2009 catalog has a chart on Page 55 (you can download from their web site) that lists the leg loop size for all their saddles. I climb with the Sequoia as well and have the same waste size that you have. When I purchased my saddle in late 2008 I tried on both size 1 and size 2. I noticed the same problem that you state and ended up with a size 1 for that reason. There are plenty of adjustment in the size 1 saddle for larger legs as well as plenty of other adjustments in the saddle that I'm sure size 1 would fit your well.

Zac, I went to UWM and if I remember correctly it wasn't the cheeseburgers that will get you. It was all the beer and gyros down on State Street that did me in.

depends on the cheeseburger. 17 oz hand pressed ground beef, 4 oz muenster cheese and fried onions. Never set it down to breathe!

This is an awesome sandwich, I'll forgo the gyros for this one. What times do you serve....? I would recommend that we start a new column entirely devoted to climber's nutrition, sort of a cooking for climbing thing. That Cheeseburger wins the first blue ribbon at this years virtual cook off!

ZAC.........

Here's an adjustable shim for your saddle

Fully adjustable up or down, depending on the AMOUNT of cheeseburgers you have.
I guess now that your a "city boy" your waist is expanding???

No expansion yet, therein lies the problem. Do you know where I might find one of your fancy saddle shims?

Not very much about that burger was nutritious. Thanks for the blue ribbon, next I'll show the bacon-wrapped bacon log!
