Petzl Rollclip Triact Pulley Carabiner

So I got one of these because its really shiny and I like shiny stuff. I thought this would be a nice bridge attachment for when I occasionally go dDrt. Didn't work out too well. It's a really nice piece of kit but the way the gate opens there is no way you can use it with a tight eye. The gate opens in such a manner that the hinge of the locking mechanism is to the top and the opening is to the pulley. I get it if it's being used as a top anchor or redirect. Unfortunately it wont work the way I wanted it to.

I'm gonna hang on to it for a retrievable redirect. Its a big biner and an overhand knot should pass through it and catch a ring pretty easily.

Sounds like a reasonable use for it. I just hate it when I try to use something for a use that it wasn't specifically designed for and my idea doesn't work like I thought it would.

Well that is off my want to purchase list. Thanks for saving me the trouble. keep it around you will find a use for it. I have a few pieces laying around that I have eventually found a use for.

Looks like the DMM version, whenever it's released, will have the gate open the opposite direction.
