Petzl Ecrin Roc

Yeah, it may not be the prettiest helmet out there, but man, I should have bought it sooner!

The fit is incredible, with the 2 wheels adjusters you can adjust the nape strap and the headband individually.

It is the only helmet that fits to a tee.

I have a vertex vent and had a Kask, neither of them fit this well.

It has no wobble or bobble and is rugged.

Now it doesn't come with slots for muffs, but I wanted a helmet for deadwwoding/pruning/cabling jobs and for rec climbing, so this works out perfectly.

Point: The new Alveo and Vertex helmets that Petzl is releasing has the same 2 wheel adjusters as the Ecrin, so it seems they went back to a proven system.

The one- wheel was a pain anyways, and it got caught in your hair to, which sucks...

So all in all? a great, basic, comfortable lid at an awesome price :)

That's my take on it too Gibs. Great bucket. I replace about every 3 years due to uv deg and just toss em in recy. I'd love a flat black one. I might even look tough in one. pffft.

I keep looking at these new Alveo and Kask...
I have been wearing the (same) Ecrin Roc for 7 years. Never heard of UV deg. until recently! I understand it may be time to spend a hundred bucks on my noodle...

I love my Ecrin and will buy another. It looks tough too, those vertex are a little wimpy. Kask is sleek, though.

On the subject of UV deg? I had a friend put my 5year bucket up against a brand spankity ROC and my old one was visibly softer and more plyable. I hated parting with it but I did it anyway. So convincing whenever someone says "What, Kristian? Your head's not worth a measley $100.?"
