Personnel who saved tree trimmer recognized by Hillsdale City Council

Hillsdale, Mich. — Four men who rescued a worker last week were recognized by the City Council Monday evening.
Director of Public Services Chris Gutowski presented Deputy Fire Chief Kevin Pauken and Board of Public Utilities workers Michael Barber, Eric Sheffer and Brent Johnson with a certificate commending them on their efforts. The ceremony took place during the City Council meeting.
The four responded to a medical emergency at 1491 Bridge Road in Hillsdale Township last Monday after a tree trimmer was hit by the top of the tree, leaving him dangling 50 feet in the air with a head injury.
The certificate reads, “The efforts and quick response by these employees undoubtedly prevented any further injuries to the victim. Let it be known this date that these men’s unselfish and heroic efforts saved this man’s life.”
