Patching metolius bags?

The tear is only about an 1 1/2" long so it should be fine if there is no movement in that spot on the bag, nothing else seems to stick to the bag. I tried rubber cement first and it came right off. I don't have any shoe goo, but never had luck with that repairng shoes.

1. I sent an inquiry to Metulios on patching, since I also have one. "Be prepared ?"

2. Until we hear, I'm still w/
A) match tear seams,
B) Overhand stitch, w/ thin whipping twine,
C) Extend stitches slightly beyond ends, to minimize propagation,
D) then smear a thin coating of Shoo Goo over the repair.

3. "No Luck w/ Shoo Goo ? ? ?" ..........
I just patched the soles of 1) Hiking boots, 2) rubber soled moccasins, 3) causal Loafers, 4) New Balance Walking / Cross-Train shoes.

I've had the Walking Shoes for ~ 9 Years. (Yeah, I'm sometimes cheap !)
They have walked 2 - 8 miles per day, 5 -6 six time per week, mostly on concrete.
Numerous, Shoo Goo sole patches.
I'm guessing > 2,500 miles. :rebotando:

Spoke with Metolious today.

They agreed 100% with my "stitch & Shoo Goo smear" approach.
Clean & roughen the surface before you start.

If you don't want to sew, take it to a canvas repair shop. (boats, etc)

Metolious will talk with their Tech Dept & may send more info.

Ciao !

Also you could try that wet suit patch glue stuff... Super rubbery and sticks to just about every thing. I find it to be the best stuff out there
