Parkway Silver Maple

Today we smashed this Silver Maple on the parkway.

It was around 55" and 85' tall. Spread around 75'. Dustin having at it.

We have been saving this tree for a good training day. Weather was perfect. Dustin on some wood.

Dustin did a bang up job and had it down to 3 cuts of wood by lunch. I made the last cuts of big wood.

We felled the last 15' load up and go. Turned out to be an early day even with the training involved. Dustin and crew did a great job. It's hard for me to remember that Dustin was in diapers when I first became a crew leader. He seems to like it here and I really enjoy working with positive, yet aggressive people.

Well done Dustin! (and Todd) I like the variations in tie-in techniques... Adjustable friction saver, SRT using alp. butterfly and carabiner, SRT using running bowline...

The lz was in the street, tons of room. Everything got loaded into the grapple loader.
