Palm pruning

Here in Florida, it is a unavoidable evil to prune palms. We are putting a crew on for palm pruning. What is the best way to process palm material?
We have the money in our budget for a 30 yard chip truck and a chipper. I am not sure if this the most cost effective way to dispose of the material. They chip into fluff, very light loads when chipping. Does a grapple make better sence? Anyone have suggestions for this type of disposal?

Andy, glad you got a few moments off. The old chuck and ducks work well with palms. But if I had the $$$$$$$ and a close dump I would go with a grapple truck.
We have brought big dumpsters in and bobcat the fronds right into the dumpster.
Hope this helps and say hey to your team for me.
Be safe be happy Scotty

VC up here on our island we just completed a project with over 1200 palms and we did the grapple truck method and it worked very well and we will do it this way in future projects since we have many developments here with thousands of palms in them.

Palm seems to grow as you chip....fluff as you say
Also...they are hell on main bearings and tend to get wrapped around them. I load mine in a big trailer and winch it out. Im sorry u have to do palms...yuck

I am sorry to say that I cannot help you with that one.

I am glad I don't have to deal with Palms either.

All the trees I deal with are (for the most part) pleasant to deal with. However, there are the occasional Russian Olives and Honey Locust with their nasty thorns.
