Other Porty Mounting Options

Can you, or has anyone ever mounted a porty onto a metal surface?

I'm talking putting the large loop in say a pintle hitch, or shackle, or something along those lines.

I have with a tow hook so as not to damage my tow ball.
Works just fine

I've use a pintle receiver hitch, turned upside down so it wouldn't stress the gate while under load. Also for lighter loads I've used a heavy shackle to the safety chain for a trailer connection point on the truck.

We tie a sling to the headache rack, or if heavier the front towing hook inside the bumper of the bucket truck.

I have used my pintle with a sling several times.

I have used it with both a shackle and pintle no issues with either.

Are you guys putting aluminum porties on steel pintles? Not good to mix aluminum and steel.

Of course that should be avoided.

I have used a large Porty on a pintle and tow hooks with a 5/8's" pear link. I like the Porty to be able rotate more than attaching to the pintle without a link allows it.

The two do react and corrode. I was concerned about that with aluminum biners and steel rings. I don't think it's much of a worry having short contact like while working. I would avoid storing the two metals together especially if it's a moist enviroment.

Mount the porty on the welded d rings on the side of the bucket truck with clevises.

I am really waiting to have receiver tubes welded onto the back of my deck like the company who built my truck put them. The welder has been busy.

Just wanted to see how the porty would work in the pintle ring for future options.

Did I sound like a D!<% there? Sorry, didn't mean to. Probably most are using steel porties anyway.
