Opsal climbing pads vs climb right

Crimsonking

Been here a while
I'm interested in the opsals, and am wondering if anyone has used both. Recommendations?

Also, what spurs go well with either?
I am leaning toward buckingham right now.

I'm a tall guy. Despite Bonners recommendations the Climb Rights do not come as high as I would like. My thought has always been that the higher the pad the greater leverage over the spur reducing the force on the leg/pad.

I've used the Opsals their fine, they were the standard in the bush.

I can tell you I've never tried climb rights but I have caddy's on buck ti and they are badass ..all day on them no problems.. Perfect fit love them

never met anybody who liked the opsals
You sure you wrote that correctly truckman cause I never met someone who didn't like them and if they don't I'd like to hear why and what's better.. cause I'll be the first in line to buy what can beat the comfort and stability they've provided me !

I first ordered the 'Cadillac pad' in the narrow configuration as I am tall and thin. Wrong, I don't know who would have small enough shins for those to fit. Once I received regular size five minutes of fitting with an old saw file got them mated up to my aluminum Bashlins. I love their comfort.

I have had my Cadillac pads for roughly 6 years on the Buckingham t2s and haven't even had to replace the padding. I'm not very easy on my equipment either. Only thing I would like to change I'd going with pole gaffs instead of tree.

I tried the Climb Right pads and couldn't make it more than four feet up the tree... they dug into my shins so bad. But, I have chicken legs.. the guys with beefy legs seem to like them. Spyder Mfg. sent me a set of the Super Climber pads, straps and all, to replace them. These are real comfy, just bulky as hell. Make you look like a hockey goalie or something. But, they're real comfy.
