About rookieclimbers statement about not clipping gate facing in.... do you mean gate out and locking mechanism in?
In my experience, you should clip it gate in and locking mechanism out. With the locking mech on the inside its real easy to lean on it opening the mechanism.
One thing I don't get about using snaps on lanyards is this: We demand double locking krabs in the whole climbing system, but on the lanyard it's OK to use a snap with a single locking mechanism. That to me seems inconsistent.
I realise the snap type connectors are popular with many people and I'm not knocking that, I just don't quite understand why an exception should be made here as to the level of safety vs. the other connectors we use.
i've been using one for about 4 years, mine is not made by isc, its made by kong, the kong version is not as easy to open ... isc calls it the trango snap
kong calls it the tango carabiner
same thing though
