Sequoia for sure. Much simpler, slimmer, and super nice.
Id go with the SRT, especially if you are skinny. The only real difference is the central point, the step through waist and the dual symmetrical waist buckle.
Randy , I assumed you were talking Ddrt saddles. If you were referring to Ddrt vs Srt saddle choice, then that is another matter. I own 2 saddles for just that reason. Sometimes I find one is better for the task that day. Both New Tribe still.
I climb in the Onyx and its a dream! I switched over from an Ergo when the Onyx was first released, it was a gamble but I'm glad i did it. I really like the fact that petzl has widened out the straps on there sequoia saddle. I would however demo the new sequoia before purchasing another saddle, for it might be as comfy as the onyx, but I'm doubtful .
Yep, 066 hanging from my right side caritool, as long as the waist belt is tight it doesn't sag down and isn't too big of a pain to carry around. Anything is fatiguing to hang in for a full day but so far its my favorite out of my old sequoia, the tree motion, or the ergovation
I've had a 395 husky hanging from my onyx and although the weight of the saw is noticeable I had no problems with sag. I do 80%+ removals and the saddle is amazing, especially if you attach your lanyard to the rigging plates.
onyx all the way,i do about 85% removals and most of them via crane,Husky 395 with 36 inch bar gets hung from it while picking large spar chunks with no prob, primary crane saw is Husky 550,great mobility very light best saddle ive owned in the last 20 years
Okay now that have chosen the Onyx, take your time and adjust it perfectly. It took a couple tries for me but when it's right it is unbelievable. As a heads up, if it piches the jewels, loosen the legs. I run mine sloppy and it is so delightful. Good luck, I think you will be happy.
