Omni-block 2.6 sling

Hey everyone,
I'm looking to purchase the Omni-block 2.6, but I'm not sure which direction to go with a sling. I've watched videos of guys using webbing slings and I've also looked into the ultra sling, but I think 6ft of sling is quite a bit. Im leaning towards a 1/2" loopie sling, but wanted to check out what everyone else is using!

Works great. There have been a couple of times when I wished that I had spliced up the sling to be 8' long, but I was able to find a spot where the 6' one was long enough. I usually just carry a 2' long heavy duty nylon loop runner with me, now, on those big stemmed trees. It can give you more length, if you need it.

For me it's all about what will this piece of hardware be used for. im not big on loops, loopies, whoopies, ultraslings, anything like that. The thing that makes me prefer a dead eye every time is that I don't need to take the line out, take the sling off, then out the sling on, and then the rope.
I feel like I'm saving steps with a dead eye. Untie knot, retie knot. I have a whoopie x ring sling. Really only use it when it wont be getting moved. Or a whoopie can be great for a portawrap, set it till you put it away.
I'm just a knotsman

X2 on the deadeyes. Still 95% of my anchoring. Having said that, I spliced up an 8' ultrasling and run it ala GU, and I'm starting to really like it. It's creeping it's way into my regular kit..

Times a million on a deadeye....hate whoopie goldberg...loopie Luna and ultrasling silly....cow or timber that shit up close....1/2" tenex is good for what that little baby pulley would do....me it's x rings on everything mainly or out come some ISC reallllll blocks....just my dumb ass talking

That silly little thing has a working load limit of 4500 pounds. If anything, the 5/8 is too small for the 2.6....but the 5/8 is well matched as an anchor to half inch rope, which is the largest diameter the sheave will take. I feel pretty similarly to these guys about whoopies, loopies, and deadeyes, but the ultrasling, BARC, and chain reactors are getting used more and more. I love the 2.6 and the little green ISC spring block on 6-8' ultras. I also like having the long ultra for the portie; it's the tits for new groundies, it fits 70+% of what I need it too, and it's really fast. I also have a 25' or 30' deadeye for the big'uns, but it doesn't come out that much anymore.

I can chuck an xring out a tree with confidence and don't give 2 fucks....both the 2.6 and silly green block are useless...to meeeee...others like yourself will disagree...but hey xrings are mostly what I been using for the last 3 years...

Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm lazy, my retrievable ring slings get worked like draft horses, but there are times I like a block, like double whip, GRCS, etc... I frequently use the 2.6 and green block as redirects for an xring high point.

Oh God I have never thrown a block either...however I throw rings out all the time...schwish swash bamb..and there it is next to the rigging bag....do it daily...

Please don't start....get some xrings and begin enjoying throwing them out the tree...or blocking out redirects without untying...nice lazy stuff

I got a ton of ring Slings spliced in different configurations. I like to use a block every once in a while. I like to splice a thimble on one end and a rigging ring on the other so I don't even have to take the rigging carabiner off..... now that's lazy. Lol
