I agree, we take ladders to every job but they seldom get removed from the top of the truck. I insist we take them though as they could potentially speed up the recovery of an injured climber stuck in the tree.

He was using a power pruner, when the limb popped, the tips came down behind him and caught the ladder...

Its good that the guy holding the ladder in the above clip was acting on his intution, as both the saw and log would have got him if he had stayed there holding the ladder..

my uncle noah was a painter before he was a landscaper and has some major horror stories of guys falling of of extension ladders. his worst fall wasnt off a ladder though, it was off a scaffold and it impaled his butt some how durring the fall. 6 stitches to the rump. ouch

I hate ladders. That being said i would tie the top of the ladder to the tree and always landyard in when cutting off one. Paul.
