So Sad . The Philly area got hit with hard winds on Saturday and sunday. This oak was hit hard on Sunday , the 9th . A three stem Red Oak , hanging over three properties , two houses and a pool . The only acsess by a hair and a crap load of cribbing was the one house to the back . The tree was breaking and all neighbors were happy that some fool ( me) would help them. Land lock your property , who's the fool ? Anyway This tree split on Sunday , it had no cables (?) Look at this split click here , it was still windy on Monday , the tree was gonna break click here , I didn't want to set up my truck , they love there houses and pool but I love my truck( 75ft. feva aerial lift). Cool job , I'll do it , no crane acsess Click here . 9 ft. arch way . I barely got my bucket in the neighbors. inch here inch there. The tree was compromised click here I hammered that tree , gonna finish it on Saturday. Tied it up , lowered it , Ghostbuster style. Truth be told , by noon it would have fallen , and smashed two houses. I did it for the high , pictures and beautiful ladies. If that tree fell and broke my truck or almost killed me I would have burned their houses down ( kidding?) . Hey , how about some preventive maintinence on your old tree ? pruning , cable , hello !

Nice pics and work, Riggs. That looks like a problem tree for sure. Did you know the people who "owned" the tree before it became a problem, and had you talked about preventative maintenance?

What'd you bid that monster, if you don't mind me asking? How many guys did you have on it? More pictures?

Riggs, couldn't you use a clock knot on the tree, just use the clock knot

Settle down Grover. Riggs needs to post more pics from his jobs and not get crap for it. He does a lot of jobs that could help teach a bunch of tree guys how to handle some serious situations.

I agree completely Mark.

Riggs has a lot more experience than many others and I know that I've learned a lot from him over the years from way back when he was writing articles in the TCIA mag and other magazines and today too.

No doubt about it, he's the real deal. Nice job Riggs!

Winch , I never met the people till that day . I kind of am a tree man for the treemen. This tree was probally let be because of acsess . All three stems separating is odd. We didn't talk money yet , I have to take the logs out on saturday. This one tree guy showed up , saw it , than went in the owners house for a bit , butterflies click here , he didn't get the job . I 'll post more pics when it is done . I lowered quite a bit in the driveway click here . I spent four hours getting all the brush and some wood out of that tree , than I had to go to another job . Everybody was happy , no damage. I took weight off of the lead over my truck first ( first rule of rescue , don't become the victim ) than I slammed the lead over the driveway with flatcuts . After all the brush was off that lead , I than tied the trunks together. There is a method to my madness, I than hung a block and spun all the brush and wood into the driveway . talk to you Sunday ....Go Flyers!

don't be sorry , give me the address of your apartment and I'll mail you my camera. I'll send you a Flyers hat too . Or I can send you a blank piece of paper and some crayons and maybe you could draw a picure of your fd up job .

oh Holly , I've been waiting for someone to take my job. pm me if you want it . You might make money though , be like a rock star . I don't want you to change . It would ruin valentines day . You might be good at what you do Holly but you never learned how to make money doing it , ready for school ? chew on this , I made more money in four hours making that tree safe , than you probally make in a week . Don't kick the dog , its not his fault . I did two more jobs that afternoon , whoa , now were making some change . Bring your Jersey game on , be like the Devils , you be going home.

Riggs: Good job, looks like another big one had to come down. Thanks for posting the pictures, that looked like one hairy situation, and hopefully a big payday at the end.

Mark: I think Grover was just inserting a well-timed joke about Riggs' affinity for the clock knot, and not busting balls.

Holly: I have heard from many trusted friends that you indeed are the real deal, and I have also heard for years that Riggs is the real deal. Maybe instead of getting into an internet pissing contest, the two of you could respect the fact that there is someone out there that may not need "schooling" by you.

Grover: Keep the faith baby.
