Oak notch & drop.

We had this oak to remove and decided to drop it it into the chipped area after being topped. Stick is approx. 40'. Head on view.

We used a 5 to 1 rig to pull it over. This pic shows the tree after the notch and backcut.

Nice drop Norm. Good open face notch. Looks like it stayed on the stump long enough to pull it upright and over.

Is that a slight tapered hinge that I see on the stump shot?
I usually use my Rope come-along for jobs like this. I already have my 3 strand line attached to it and it sets up fairly quickly too.

Slight tapered hinge to miss the parking lot to the left. We don't have a rope come-a-long. The 5 to 1 works good for most of those applications. If there isn't enough force with a 5 to 1, adding another single pulley easily converts it to 10 to 1. The tag line was installed before any cutting was done. It may not be visible in the pics, but it is there.

In the picture with your Husky in it, I can see you missed the trunk of the other tree just my a hair! Just as planned, right? Sometimes a customer will say, "that came close." I say, "Measure twice, cut once. That's why you hire a professional." Good job.

That pic is a little deceiving. It missed the trunk flare by 5 feet. You can't see it in the pics.

Mark, it landed in a chipped area, so it didn't bounce at all. You can pretty much tell by the 372 pic.
