Not a cowboy hat, just a hat for the sun. No not with Beswick. Jeez thought someone was going to harp about me pulling over the saw and it wasn't between my knees.
 
I absolutely can not believe that members of the treebuzz community are still working without helmets. You must have no respect for your family and friends. They are the ones who will suffer because you're to tough to play it safe. Put a helmet on and buy some sunblock. Once you do that I'll make fun of the notch.

Starting the saw between your knees or in a crotch instead of drop starting the saw would be my guess. Theres bigger fish to fry than that little boo boo though.
 
I get stuff done and not entirely worried that my notch is perfect. Did it not miss the house? Not sure you got any vid's doing stuff? And the hard hat thing, I think it should be personal preference at least when it's hot out. At least for the climber..Make fun of my notch then like my dirty crotch with rope burn in it..
 
Actually there is quite a bit of pretty awesome footage of Banjo climbing. One video is on my website, and the other is in production. They're, like, professional videos, though. Apples and oranges, really.

Why don't you post it and Enlighten all of us? Besides that video took me all of 2 minutes to put up. Hey Tom looking alittle lacking in the video department yourself. Wow good thing I have these guys with all this experience telling me what I am doing wrong. Great I will just look at your Professional video to determine the problem... oh wait there is none.. Drift! Why don't you guys put on your hardhats and go take a hike. Next!

Because this is not a pissing contest. This is legitimate arborists critiquing YOUR video that YOU put up for the world to see. What did you expect?

My website video was put up almost a year ago, so you can find it if you like.
 
I think the avatar pic's say it all. One guys got his dog and the other a stream with you in a tree... I climb to make money so I can grow my business. How I do that is my decision not yours or anyone else. Read the very first post again and then try to understand it. Beside I worked with a guy with 50 years experience taking down trees and learned alot. Believe me when I say YOU AIN'T TEACHING ME SQWAT!

Some people actually use Treebuzz as a resource to better themselves.

You should really stop stomping your feet and look at your work practices. You're probably a decent arborist for all I know. You should wear proper PPE for your sake and for your family and friends, that's really all we're saying. Tree workers should give a crap about each other, right?

Honestly the hard hat doesn't make you safe. Being aware and skilled makes you and the others around you safe from you. Them being safe depends alot on them. It's a dangerous job and for the most part when the sh$% goes down is a hard hat on a climber really going to matter. I do wear them just not that day and any other that I choose not too.

Look back at what they said and it was nothing.

I think Ricky actually wants a pissing contest.

I'd be happy to oblige if I had more time, I'd piss all over you.

I can converse with you likely in January or February.

And, because these guys could see from the beginning, you "said" you didn't want any critism, they actually held their tongue, if you don't believe me they or I could make a list for you.

My guess is you won't believe me, then we can make a list of what we see in that short video that is not professional. Then you can get even more mad and just be stuburn and continue to stay in your own ways without advancing...


Or you can go to arboristsite where just about everyone there is an average or below average tree guy and you can kiss each others azzes to make each other feel good and pretend that you are awesome.

yes, it does NOT make EVERYTHING you do safe, you are correct.

But not understanding how easily the human head is hurt or destroyed by the smallest falling dead limb, or snap on a rope or whatever shows something about the person that does not wear a hardhat. And not understanding how important the head is maybe?

Not wearing a hardhat often indicates that many, many, many other safe practices are also NOT followed as well.

I have not ever met a climber or tree guy that does not wear a hardhat and everything else they do is safe.

If they don't wear a hardhat, always, it equals unsafe work practices all around. Also, likewise, the ignorance of proper rigging goes along with those people as well.

Arguing about hardhat use this day and age says a lot.

Well hey, lets go, to your video, and see how pro, you are, HO!! Well Well no vid's I can see. Maybe you can post some of you going to the urinal to unload all that piss. While your at it stop by the toilet and take a dump cuz I think your full of it!!!Again people flapping their gums with nothing to back it up.. Hilarious!! and extreemely pathetic and the same time... atleast you guys can multi task.
