Notch Ergo Climbers

The metal work sure look a lot like the Edelrid spurs. I can tell right away that I would have a problem with the lower strap set up with velcro adjustment both behind and in front of the foot. Also don't like the lowers being attached on the inside of the shank as opposed to the older style where your strap goes around the outside of the shank and back to itself. This older style pulls the shank closer to the inside of your foot, thus putting your foot closer to the tree ( a little can make a big different in feel and dexterity). Distel does the same thing with their velcro lowers and I fucking hated it, but a quick swap to some Buck velcro lowers made a massive difference in feel..Otherwise these Notch spur look very promising, regardless of price..Enjoy

I was thinking that the metal work look like a straight rip from Edelrid. As someone who is experiencing so much of this for the first time, I feel like the lack of deeply engrained muscle memory lets me feel comfortable enough in a lot of different setups. I have stronger feelings about systems that I have used for several years now, but in general still have the ability to work with whatever might be available. I have forgotten my personal gear bag two or three times, and have climbed in other people's setups for a full day in each. Not my favorite experiences, but ones that gave ne a lot of insight into their preferrences, and their reasoning about gear in general. I look forward to spending a day in "your" saddle soon here ;)

About 10 climbs in on these and still as happy as day 1. I don't have to think about foot placement at all. The gaff angle is superb. The only downside I've found is the two lower straps are a tad short for size 13 feet, so getting them on can be a pain if I'm hanging to avoid rocks. Insanely comfortable though.

A few months into using these. I still really like them. I have big feet, so when I'm in winter boots my feet don't fit in the dual straps easily. Other than that they are wicked comfortable and intuitive. I don't have my feet falling asleep or any shin pain. I've worn them in my bogs (when I forget to put my climbing boots on) and they are still comfortable. Really impressed with them.
