My family and I are oriented ourselves to sell the business and move up to the rest of our family in Idaho. Our business in Tulsa has been a major blessing and has gone better and easier than I ever dreamed, but it’s probably worth us putting in 30 years into an area we plan to live long-term. That being said…

I have a meticulously maintained Bandit 15XP chipper with the Ford 6.2. It has a little over 200 hours on it, and I’m a little overboard on maintenance, so it’s had it oil changed every 100 hours instead of the every 400 recommended by the manual.

200’ish hours. I had it custom spec’d with the more heavy duty Over-Center clutch, 40 gallon fuel tank, steel fenders, winch (currently removed for easier machine feeding), HD feed table with deflectors, feed wheel speed control (Great for vines, wet brush and logs), and a hoop style cone holder that can also mount a vice for sharpening. Under 9000 lbs.

Also, for those who are unsure about gassers, this thing walks all over the 130 hp Cummins and the 145 hp John Deere. The torque is the equivalent to the 130 HP John Deere at 355 ft-lbs, but the recovery of drum speed is faster than both of the diesels.

It also burns less fuel per hour at 100% load compared to those two chippers. I get about 8-12 hours of run time per 40 gallon tank.

It’s been a phenomenal machine for us.

Asking 66k (Pay off) there’s also the option of taking over the loan. I’m willing to consider delivery as well depending on location. I do enjoy long drives!

To my limited knowledge, I believe it still might be under warranty. I bought it in June 2023, so I believe there could be a year and a half left on it.

Dang, that’s a fair price! If I hadn’t just pulled the trigger on a build probably be talking. Best of luck with the sale and move!

Hrrrrmm...yes...lemme see....

Factor in the exchange rate, some import fees, taxes, can't forget taxes, a whole lotta fuel, hotels???....I can sleep in the truck, carry the 1, and....fuck

Sorry, not trying to derail your sale. Just always seeing these amazing machines for reasonable prices and it hurts.

What part of Idaho are you looking at? Not to derail your sale at all as I’m sure it will go pretty quick at that price.

CDA! I am pretty involved in Oklahoma’s industry, becoming a bit of a shot caller with regional issues, but it’s going to be humbling starting from scratch up North.

Northern ID has a different culture I am realizing, arbs up there are not very friendly, it’s not like the Boise area with a lot of badass’s like Ezekiel. W building up the industry. I am sure you’re one of those cool Soutgern ID spudders haha!

Yeah, up North is a bit rough but there are some good ones as well. The team at Grace Tree Service out of Hayden are a pretty good group of people. Preston with the city of Post Falls would also be someone to connect with for further good connections. At least with it being pretty “basic” up North, as far as the tree scene goes, you can only help improve it!

Good to hear you know Zeke. I work with him frequently and we put classes on locally together. Our tree scene in the S. is also pretty poor, we just happen to also have a few top notch fellas.

When you get here, welcome!

How does this machine compare to a similar sized Morbark? Morbark is all I have ever known because we have such great dealer support. I know everyone has their preference but I am curious. Having another chipper here would be nice.

So I looked at the Morbark equivalent really hard, they are similar, but the Bandit had a much larger drum which takes big wood with less fuss. Also, when looking up the part number, the 15 XP had larger drum bearings overall.

The 15XP is literally built off the 18 XP, so you can work the snot out of the 15 XP and it’s barely feeling it. It’s just a way over built 15 inch chipper.

I specifically purchased this chipper with the Over-Center Clutch. It locks up incredibly hard, and it’s very unlikely to slip underload when adjusted properly, it will slip the drum belts before that.

I check it every 100 hours, and it takes 1-2 minutes to adjust. You push in a spring loaded pin, and rotate a toothed ring clock wise. Super easy.

He also said grease according to the bell housing plate. Most clutch failures are because someone is greasing the throw out bearing every day instead of every 500 (Or what ever is says) hours. Just because there is a zert, does not mean daily greasing.

People I know that had a 15R/16series experienced a lot of random cracking in the welds. This is pretty odd because their equivalent machine weighs like 1000 pounds more. I personally have not heard of any welding issues with the 15 XP’s.

One more sidenote is that the Morbarks red paint tends to fade and oxidize pretty quickly, not that that’s a big deal, but they start to look rundown really fast, where especially the green colored Bandits look pretty new even after a decade.

The feed wheel speed control is great for chipping vines, wet brush and logs too.
