After viewing the post regarding tamke tree experts I have to say I agree with most of what tree dr says they offer. i do have to say that there pay is decent but its comparable to the industry standard. they run a very solid compay but their emphasis is on spraying, fert. and plant health care. They have a few folks who just climb and some that just spray but its not uncommon to be assigned to a spray rig at their will. they do have a great saftey program. best i have seen so far. However, the supervisory staff has some serious issues with people skills. Some of the foreman are great but actually being assigned to one a steady basis seemed rare. Most were rude and went out of their way to make you feel unwelcome as a newcomer. I stress most! but not all. They do have some nice perks for the employees but it doesnt balance out the way you are treated from day to day.

This good really be a good one but they just come up too short in the people skills dept. to make it a long term venture. They have a handfull of year round employees and the rest is made up with H2B labor.

i appreciate your desire to know my name but we dont know each other. in any event i was just stating my opinion. I apologize if you have taken any offense.

If we don't know each other then how can you make that statement(s)? I've been there forever.

I think the post is a bash and should be deleted by the administrator unless legendrider wants to come out and tell me who he is and then I can talk to him privately about his beef with Tamke.

Still waiting for my pm

I understand your concerns and i once again aplogize if that sound like a bash. I did not mean to offend you and i have no "beef" with tamke. i thought i was quite fair in stating my opinion. i opened with that you have a solid company and nice equipment and complemented on your saftey standards. the rest of my post was an opinion i gathered from current and past employees i have had dealings with. if the moderator wishes to delete my post thats fine but i do not believe i have broken any forum rules with what i mentioned in my post.

In addition, I have sent you the pm you requested. Also, this is a forum for opinions and the remaining unknown to all that view is an option that the forum staff has afforded to us all. I choose to do so at this time. I do not wish to talk privatley and i appreciate your desire to defend your company. In closing, I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors

Here's my problem, for you to take the time to start a new thread on working conditions at Tamke means that you must have had a bad experience there for whatever reason.
I appreciate all the positive things you stated, but as with anything, the negatives always weigh in more than positive.
I represent the company, thats my job, and to have someone post something negative about my company bothers me. I know its your opinion, and you have every right to do so, but I would like to know what promted you to post this thread and who you are.
I will tell you this, we have production employees that have been with the company for 20-25 years. I went through the same "hazing" 15 years ago as has everyone else who has walked through the door. Its done for a reason. It weeds out the strong from the weak.
In this industry, when sometimes your groundguy has your life in his hands, you may need that guy to have some kind of backbone and not get emotional if he did something wrong.

No crybabies at Tamke.

I apologize for my off the handle dealings with this thread starter.

I just don't think its cool to start a thread here rating a company. I think it was done in poor taste.

I beg to differ. You started by rating your own company. If your going to advertize as the best then you would also have to be prepared to take some negative feed back. I will say again, take is a solid company and has very strong points. The statements I have made are accurate and fair. However saying that those who chose not to deal with juvenile hazing are whiners and cry babys only validates my previous opinions. I agree that all groundies should have backbone. Hazing is for fraternities and doesnt belong in the work place. Quite frankly, what i experienced wasnt hazing it was just rude and arrogant behavior with no cause. I hope my groundies get emotional if they do somthing wrong, maybe they will think twice before they do it again.

Should have just cracked the SOB in the jaw, that will show them that you have a backbone. Could you please either on here or PM more information as to what you are talking about. I have talked to a few guys that have worked there, but haven't hurd anything positive until your post. Being in NJ I do come across guys looking for jobs and I like to be able to refer them to a company that would best suit them

Tree Dr. please don't take offense to what he has said. It is good to give people the full story of what they are getting into. Actually up to now I wouldn't refer anyone to you but due to what he has said I have changed my mind. Safty is a big thing for me so know that you have a great safety program is a huge plus.

Well now, it would appear that the very posted you said was a bash just created a positive referal. Regarding cracking him in the jaw. Yes i could have done that but the list started to grow LOL. I thought it best to politley say thank you and move on and take the good aspects of what tamke practiced with me and leave the negative behind. Things worked out well in the end. good luck. I am going to leave it at that.

All's well, but I don't like mysteries.

I really would have rather had this anonymous ex-employee PM me with his gripes. Maybe I could have done something to make his stay more appreciated.

Bottom line, as in the culinary world, if you can't take the heat, stay away from the chipper.

There is no perfect company, mine included, but we do our best. And natural selection (a different meaning) applies, as in likes will attract likes. And it is usually better that way.

Some people will only change/respond to negative reinforcement, others need positive reinforcement. And there are probably others yet.

True Mangoes. And I have learned through the years that you can't please everyone, and I don't think that you should try to cater to anyone. If they are unhappy, they are not likely to be changed by a your actions. Once they make up their mind to be unhappy, it's only a matter of time before they move on or need to be shoved.

Well put Mark. I wish we could be like Donald Trump and fire someone each week that was slacking off. A bit different though, good help is hard to find.
