Nifty Lift

Why chip when we can get rid of whole material with no disposal costs? With a few exceptions, I clean up trees sitting in air conditioning. If business grows enough I could see getting a monster grab truck, but that's a powerfully expensive, not very versatile piece of equipment.

Hey Lumberjack, can you write a little more about why the purchase of the TM64 would have not been a good choice. I am thinking an aerial lift may be my next purchase and like the idea of the trailer mount moved around the job site with my Ditch Witch SK755. Thanks

Originally I was thinking the TM64 was the way I wanted to go given my previous experience with a towable lift and moving it with a mini and its price point. After having the SD64, for me, now, it is the better choice. The SD weighs 1klbs more than the TM, but that weight is spread on 4 turf tires instead of 2 trailer tires. The SD has a good bit of power to drive over adverse terrain and is very agile with its 4 wheel steering. Another thing I commonly take for granted is I'm already equipped to move relatively large equipment for our industry. I can haul the SD64, stump grinder and Avant in one load. I hauled a SD50, Terex 13" chipper, and a Terex stump grinder to Jambo in one load.

Aside from the ability to load itself, the SD64 comes with a jib and the TM doesn't. The TM basket is a good bit smaller than the SD64's, which can be better for poking through the canopy.

The TM64 comes with traction drive standard, although you could use the mini or possibly even both if situations required. Another nice thing is the TM is out of CDL territory in most states.

Like I've said, I'm a nifty dealer now, feel free to give me a call/text any time if you'd like to chat! I do like the forums as well, great for spresding knowledge and learning! 662-251-8686
